Yr2 Sharing the planet.

We are exploring extreme weather effects in art. Natural disasters have been recorded by artists for hundreds of years before cameras were even invented. We can see what happened from artists' paintings, drawings and prints.

Today we have cameras and videos to record what happens. Artists express themselves in lots more styles too.
We explored 2 ways of painting disasters today with a focus on lines and colours.

1. Tsunami: Watercolour paints on watercolour textured paper with salt sprinkles. We talked about abstract styles and that paintings don't need to be perfect or look realistic.

2. Tornado: Finger painting with acrylics and 3D moulding paste for the tornado funnel shape. (very messy but we LOVED IT!)
