Dio Art INFO

ART HOME LEARNING.

Learning to SELF EVALUATE our sketches.

Our students are encouraged to self evaluate their work to:
*  think like an artist.
* start taking some responsibility for their
   own learning.
* develop 21st century thinking skills.
* identify strengths and weaknesses to set goals.
* make their learning more meaningful.

Evaluating our sketches is just one method of several that we use to respond to our art works and the process we have experienced.
The girls' in years 4-6 should be be able to explain how they evaluate their work using the process below.

ART SHIRTS

These are available from the Dio uniform shop in a range of sizes. Students are expected to have a regulation art shirt at school for art and science/technology lessons. A more dense waterproof art shirt is available on request with an added cost. (these were used in the past but the students complained that they were too stiff to work in, so a finer fabric was sourced) Students may wear on old t-shirt over their uniform and under their art shirt if added protection is required.
All art shirts must be named. Preferably names are embroidered on the front as this makes it easier for the girls to find their shirt and less likely to get lost. Students are not to borrow art shirts as we have had incidents of shirts not being returned and/or in an unsatisfactory condition.
Please ensure that art shirts are long enough to cover the length of the school uniform.
Thanks for your support in this.
