Yr 4 ARTIST study & Exhibition

1. Choose an artist that you : 
*  like the style of (Realism, Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, Abstract etc)
* haven't done before (be a risk taker....try something different-challenge         yourself!)
* can showcase your talents. Don't sell yourself short by taking an obviously       easy option!
* can recreate their style within 4-5 lessons.
* can find biographical information on. (you will make a QR code recording ..telling your audience about your artist) 

Try these:
*research artists on the internet. (save/ write down their names and your ideas  in your art book)
*Talk to your parents, friends, relatives over the holidays for inspiration.
*Be inspired by your culture or that of your ancestors.
*Your choice of artist might be influenced by what you like to draw or paint or
  your favourite colours. 
 -WHERE in your house will this artwork sit or hang? 
- Is the art work for someone special-a gift or a special occasion? What subject   matter/ artist do they like?

2. Find your subject matter: (work from your
    own photo)
Now that you have chosen your artist.....what will you paint, draw, model etc in their style. (you cannot copy their artwork directly)
*animal: pet?
*portrait:family member? friend? You?
*landscape: your house/beach house? view from your window? your garden?    a scene from a photo you took on holiday? A beach in Fiji? A landmark? A    place that is  special to your family or ancestors?
*cityscape:
*seascape:

3. Media:
*You will need to provide any materials that are not stocked in the art room
  (eg: canvas, mosaics, wood etc)

I have stocked: cartridge paper (A3-A2), pencils, charcoal, chalks, pastels, paint (watercolour & acrylics), White/coloured A3- A2 cardboard, watercolour paper, printing ink, wire, clay, material scraps, odds and ends of beads/buttons. Just ask!
