Monet's frogs Year 2

We think these frogs would love to live in Monet's garden in France. We made paper lily pads from card and tissue paper and modelled our frogs out of Fimo.
Ms Parker baked them in the oven for 20 minutes to make them hard enough to glue onto our lily pads.

We are learning about natural disasters in class and in art we painted bush fires. (last week it was textured tornadoes!)
We had to think about our colours carefully and how we applied the paint with palette knives. NO BRUSHES!!!

Glue Prints and abstract paintings of Auckland -Year 2

We have been inquiring about Dio, Auckland, New Zealand and world landmarks.
Today we explored printing techniques and painting WITHOUT a paintbrush!

We were only allowed to use cardboard widths to paint with to create our

abstract style paintings. What a challenge that was!

The big reveal..... here comes my print.

Paint on your uniform?

                     As much as we try to be careful in a small space.....accidents do happen! There are more natural stain remover remedies online if you prefer or have time to research them. Let me know if any of them work! This is the potion that I use and other mum's have tried this one on our uniform as well.

We have been learning to draw original characters that are good or bad using colours and different facial expressions.

We used kind, happy expressions on our good characters.We would like to play with them!

Characters that are not very nice to other people might have dark, gloomy  colours and unkind expressions on their faces.

Our characters can be made up from our imaginations or ideas could come from other drawings or books. We didn't copy someone else's idea completely.

 

We used mainly happy colours like yellow, orange and pink on our good characters.
